SUV with car-like steering?

I've driven a handful of SUVs so far: Toyota RAV4, Volvo XC90, Audi Q5, and, Nissan Rogue. The steering for all of them feel "numb" and light compared to cars. Is this always the case? Do subcompact crossovers fare better? How about the sporty SUVs like the Alfa or Porsche?

CX-5 for a luxury car level interior and great handling for a very low price, as long as you don't need speed.

OP should also post a budget. Listing cars from a Rouge to a XC90 is a substantial price gap.

That's the thing, even if you go up the price point of an Audi, you'd still get a car that steers like a boat.

Try Macan or Stelvio.
Neither Q5 or XC90 (or most SUVs in that size) is known to be an excellent handling SUV.

I've test driven a bunch and IMHO the MDX has the most car-like handling in the three-row category. X5 and Q7 were close, but only in the upper level trims with the nicer engines.

Haven't tested two-rows

Noted for future reference Smiling Face With Sunglasses

It looks like a better jack-of-all-trade vehicle is still a hot hatch or wagon.

I like my Mazda5, so I wouldn't be surprised if a Mazda feels more car like than the average SUV... but you're really chasing your own tail on this one.
