Cable Internet CIK Telecom $29.99/m w/referral til March 1st Up to 25M

http://www.ciktel.com/portal/Eng/Reside ... rovider=SV

On the top of the page look for the province drop down menu. Select "BC". Go to internet and then cable and you'll find it.

Service Area
Abbotsford | Alderglove | Burnaby | Coquitlam | Langley | Maple Ridge | New Westminster | North Vancouver | Port Coquitlam | Richmond | Squamish | Surrey | Vancouver | West Vancouver | Whistler | Whiterock

I've been using this service within Vancouver for maybe 6 months. At first there were some ip issues when transfering from telus to CIK but i called and i think after a couple of days problems such as disconnects/lag spikes started to become rare (once a month or less).

The speed isn't very consistent though. But it's definitely capable of reaching 25 Mbps. Pings are always good 50ms-. Honestly I can't complain with the price. Not sure how well other cities will do.

Can Toronto get this price? How did you get it?

It's only for cities around Vancouver. I checked and for the same service within Toronto it's $50...

Go up the page and you'll be able to select your province. Select BC. Click internet > cable and you'll see it.

I called and it is a year contract at that price, Same price for the second year, but no contract. The modem is free, but the processing fee is $69.99.

Damn, looks like there is a one-time processing fee of $69.95.

I just switched to CIKTel from Telus yesterday. Paid one time $69.99 processing fee. $29.99 with contract for the first year and the same price without contract afterwards.

It uses Shaw cable. It runs close to 25M during non-peak period, while it drops below 15M during peak period at night. Upload speed seems very stable, though. No drop so far.

I cannot complain giving the competitive price. I used to pay $40 to Telus and got only 15M down/1M up.

Hopefully CIKTel's billing system doesn't disappoint users.

Ah crap. I missed the cable bit.
Thought it was DSL. No failover for me.

Hm...weird, I see the $29.99/m on the site, but when I click to try and order, there are only the 6Mbps/15Mbps options. Am I missing something?

honestly, one time processing fee $69.99 is charged by SHAW/TELUS mandatory, not CIK.
