You guys also have to remember that you actually DO get reception, just not from WIND's network. You roam on Rogers at a rate of $0.25/min, which the Big 3 already charge as long distance on most plans.

i use a 4S on FIDO, and i get worse reception at home (constant 3 bars) than my parents do with their Wind Samsung phone (forgot which model).
At times, I fail to send text msgs and dial out calls but I've spoken to some other 4S ppl and they say they experience similar problems at their homes too. So it could be 4S and not the network.
However parents WIND phone is always full bars and they have never had issues receiving and making calls. I call them all the time without any issue. I just wish WIND would redo their client account page as its horrible trying to locate where to pay with all that top up crap.Last edited by light2; Feb 8th, 2012 at 01:57 PM.

I realized this the other day too when my girlfriend went with me to London. Full reception and 3G in the roaming areas. She's with Wind, I'm with Fido and I think I'd still pay more per minute than her if I had to make or receive calls.
I don't pay for sending texts when I'm outside Toronto, but would Wind users incur extra fees for the texting?_______________

If I'm not in a Wind zone and my phone is on, I get charged for roaming, correct?
If I'm not in a Wind zone and my phone is off, I don't get charged for roaming, correct?
If I'm not in a Wind zone and my phone is on but I have taken the sim card out but it's beside my phone, ie, the device and the sim card itself are not in a Wind zone (to play games, listen to music, watch videos, etc), will I get roaming charges?

This is true, at the time WIND and Mobilicity were bidding for spectrum, the government was only auctioning AWS which is why you need a handset with bands 1700/2100. It's a turnoff for some but there are still a lot of great phones that are able to run on this network. Generally, any UNLOCKED T-Mobile USA phone will work as well as any Mobilicity phone b/c they all run on the same frequency.

^Best website to check the frequencies on phones, your xperia pro will not work on WIND unfortunately._______________

Sorry folks, I forgot to check this thread again!
It's been awhile and my reception is better. I do sometimes still have some of the same problems but it's nowhere in the same frequency as it used to be. I can actually have conversations with people.
I'm still considering switching to Telus or Rogers. I'd like a new phone and with the Windtab+ I can get a nice new phone but it's pretty much the same as being in a contract with Telus and Rogers. With Wind, if I want to get a new phone before 3 years are up or want to leave Wind, I still have to pay out for my phone. If only 10% is going to my Tab, only $100 will be taken off after 2 years leaving still a lot of money. If I were to be on contract with Telus and Rogers, I'd also still have to pay out for the phone and plan if I was to leave them.
I'm more looking now at the reception (Wind's isn't as good) VS the price for the plan (Wind's is excellent). And I'm still not sure. . .
