I purchased Quicktax Standard (Grand and Toy) and NAV 2007 (Best Buy) and submitted the $35 rebate to Symantec (coupon obtained from http://www.quicktaxweb.ca/content/et....php?b=filenow)
I checked the to see the status and was told I was refused because I purchased it from best buy. No where in the coupon did it say that Best Buy was not a qualified seller. They told me that I have to get the item from Intuit (which also was not listed in the coupon).
What I want to know is who else got fleeced by these SOB's?![]()
With schemes like this, you wonder why piracy is so popular![]()

I just got the exact same response, except I purchased NIS from staples.ca. The rebate person on the phone was very apologetic and agreed that there was no statement about the NIS purchase location, but this was a stipulation from Symantec Canada to the rebate center.
I've been slowly turned off NIS over the years because it seems to eat more and more resources. It is likely that I will never buy another Intuit or Symantec product again because of this BS._______________

I purchased NIS and QTS at Costco when Costco had a $20 instant rebate on NIS ($60 +tax -$20). QTS was $27 or $28.....I received the $40 rebate plus the $30 NIS upgrade rebate from Symantec last week......the upgrade rebate did not appear to be publicised, but I found it on the Symantec rebate centre website.

I'm pissed, I just got notification from Symantec that the $40 rebate is invalid cause I purchased both of my items at Costco.
I did a search online for "quicken costco rebate" and got this at the Intuit site:
Wal-Mart®, Sam’s Club®, Costco®, and Target® - Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco and Target do not participate in Quicken or TurboTax rebate programs. Unless otherwise specified by Intuit._______________

I got stiffed by a $10 rebate years ago. I learned my lesson then about the people behind this product (Quicktax). This is the only rebate I ever lost.

I sent off an email asking for an explaination on why my rebate was denied. They came back and said I had to purchase Quicktax from:
Intuit
Intuit Directly
Intuit Store
Which I kindly replied, that neither the rebate form, Symantec website, or Intuit.ca website stated that stipulation. I also provided them with all the links to the websites and the rebate form itself. I have yet to hear back from them.Last edited by kmltick; May 8th, 2007 at 03:31 PM.

Hi there,
Just go back to the store and nag them about selling a product, promoting the rebate, but get nothing but BS...

In the end, I guess there was enough of an uproar that they did issue the rebate; got mine a few months ago.
