T5 Slips PC Financial?

Does anyone know when or how we get our T5 slips from PCF?

I'm pretty sure I made over $50 in interest from the last promo in the fall - can't figure out where to find the receipts. Did they already mail them out?

Long time ago.

Register for CRA's My Account. I don't find the mail service reliable enough.

It might say CIBC on it. My tfsa transactions did. Confused the heck out of me.

At least for me, the fall promo interest wasn't paid out until Jan 1, 2017, so it's taxable income for the 2017 tax year.

If you get stuck, it should be simple enough to check your PCF account and get the interest from last year.

I use auto-fill my return. It appears as CIBC when you look at the T5 (in My Account or the tax software).

PCF only displays March 2016 onward. I can't access the previous months. Unless I'm missing something?

If you do not have the statements that showed the interest earned, you can go to the bank and ask them how much interest you received for the previous year. Since you made over $50, while at the bank you can ask if they can give you a duplicate copy, if it is available.

You are right. I didn't realize you could only go back a year. Probably easiest just to give them a call then. They should be able to tell you the previous year's interest.

I've never checked my CRA account for tax slips, but I was curious so I thought I'd look. Just log in, go to the "Tax Returns" tab, select "Tax Information slips" and then select the year and slips you are looking for.

Tried calling but the wait was over 45 minutes. I'm going to go to my local branch and see if they can help me out on my way home today.

Call late in the evening if you can. I have called around 11:30pm CST (12:30am EST) and I have never had to wait more than a minute. They should be able to give you an answer straight away. At the pavilions I find they have to call the call centre for most things anyways.

Thanks, I called and they gave me the numbers.

Do I still need to call them and ask for the T5 slip too? Is that mandatory to be submitted?
