Tablet suggestions

I am looking for suggestions on an android tablet around $300. Screen size 7-8". No apple because we have problems with the chromecast connection.

We plan on keeping it in our kitchen/dining area and we will use it for general browsing, storing our cook books (epub), uploading the newspaper, streaming via chromecast, accessing our sonos system.

Thanks in advance.

E is for excrement. Bottom of the barrel.
A is for average. Actually fairly below average.
S is for supreme. The only decent ones.

There's not much choice in Android tablets atm unfortunately. A Tab S2 or Zenpad 3s would be ideal but outside your budget.

LG G Pad III 8.0 costs $240 from Fido. You need a Fido buddy to buy that for you

Lots of people selling the LG-Pad brand new for $150 on kijiji. They got them for free with the Fido data plan

Hmm they are all 16 Gb whereas the one at Fido is 32 Gb. That is the catch
16 Gb is really tight if not viable at all

Not only that . Its resolution sucks (Native Screen Resolution 1280 x 800 (WXGA))

I do not like the form factor (10" to big to hold in bed IMO) . And 16 Gb sucks too

Hmm it is 14 Gb only after 2 is allocated for the RAM.
Anyway (32 - 2) Gb gives you zero worry at all

If can get BF deals from down south then the Amazon fire 8" for $50 USD and 10" [better screen] for $100

Use their own version of android but can google how to install google apps

... but is it worth the extra $100?
Considerably less than that. Buying from Kajiii at around $150-$180 (used no tax) has a lot less cost advantage
1. minor risk of blacklist; discount for used item typically 20%
2. return and warranty work
3. Additional 32 Gb
4. Less convenient and less straight forward than buying from Fido (I am a Fido client)

PS I took out the word RAM (re item 3) My error
