Interestingly no birds are included in the list. If I'm correct birds of prey are considered 'unclean' in many cultures... Some food (sorry for that, couldn't help it ) for your thought.

i'm pretty sure that tribal rituals of transition from adolescence to adulthood, regarding the consumption of monkey flesh, was directly responsible for an outbreak of variant ebola in the last few years, and frankly, ebola is a waaaaaaay nastier virus than hiv.

oh, and regarding the hiv theory, isn't it highly likely that the virus was transmitted by a monkey biting a human, thus facilitating the blood transmission necessary???

imho, it's even more plausible than the ''eating monkey flesh'' scenario, and about a million times more believable than that ridiculous "black guys having sex with monkeys'' idea that some fancy. . .

Of all the taboo meat, eating human flesh would probably rank as the most proscribed. Historically man has indulged in the flesh of fellow humans out of rituals, insanity, hatred or hunger, in decreasing order of prominence. It is still consumed by a few tribals and cases of cannibalism have been noted in Africa, Asia and Papua New Guinea as well as in other parts of the world.
