tagging a thread

I've searched if this was asked and couldn't find anything. Is there a way to tag/mark a thread so that when you browse forums you could see that thread marked.
This way I could highlight a thread for later reading - sometimes I miss or forget about a thread amongst the pile of new threads.

this is different then subscribing a thread and getting email updates - just a visible mark beside the thread per user.

the only way know that I know of is to reply to something and then I will see the bent arrow

There's no system built just for that purpose. You can accomplish this by subscribing to the thread and turning both notification types off. This will add a subscription icon to the thread when you view it in the thread listing.
