I think this might be the correct section. Anyone know any solid Rogers Smart Home Monitoring alternatives? I don't have it connected to the Police/Fire, etc. so my initial thought was to head to Best Buy and just buy something that has a camera, the door sensor and an app to view video. I've found ...

I have to say the main 'official' games don't interest me much. Seeing the 2 hands in front of you floating around is very cartoony. The main incentive for me is racing sims. I can't wait to play Assetto Corsa and Project Cars with it. Hopefully the next Forza Horizon will also be Oculus compatible....

Anyone using Teksavvy's 250Mbps service? Got a consistent 320 to 325 Mbps on Rogers 250u regardless of time of day. So getting a bonus 70 to 75 Mbps with Rogers was nice. What kind of speeds are folks getting with Teksavvy 250?

I'm running a Surface 3 4gb/128gb, and apart from 2 things I'm really happy with it. Firstly,Readly killed the windows app, so now I can't download magazines to read offline. Secondly, I'm using an stbemu, and I can't find anything that works on Windows. I've ran both of these in an android virtual ...

Note – DD-WRT/OpenWRT support is absolutely necessary (I just love the number of configuration options on those firmwares). I know there are plenty of choices around $50-$100, but I’m on a tight budget (tons of other expenses). I just need something that can give a decent Wi-Fi (dual band not requir...

Hey guys, During the last couple of months, I've been looking for a Windows tablet that has stylus support (note taking for school), within the 8-12" range. I don't want to spend a lot as I already have a Macbook Pro, hopefully under $400.00. It would be great if it came with a detachable keyboard a...

cable

Good morning, In my neighbourhood I have the option of going with Bell network FTTN service, or Cogeco network Cable service. FTTN would be with CarryTel, 50/10 for $39.99. Cogeco would be with Start.ca 40/10 at $50.00. If anyone has experience with these providers, networks, or FTTN vs Cable in gen...

... This may not be super useful if you already have Google Voice setup with a US number, except that I don't think Google Voice will give you 100 overseas calling minutes free per month. You can do this with an account linked to a global sim. Reasons for doing this is say when you're in the ...

Lenovo My old desktop will need to be replaced soon. Last summer I put in the old computer an ssd drive that is running the OS. I could have it moved to a new computer, or I cold start over with a fresh build. I'd want to add at least a 2TB data drive. I've got a large media library. Aside from an ...

Ok, so I am fixing my parent's PC because the motherboard died; no big deal, until Windows 10 started complaining it's not authentic. This OS was upgraded from Windows 7 (legit) to Windows 10 (back when it was free); using the Windows 7 key, it doesn't work. Am I hooped? Seems like the only way I ca...

I thought this was interesting, HardOCP did some recent benchmarks between DX11 & DX12 performance on 1080/1080ti/rx480 and it seems like DirectX 12 doesn't offer any particular performance advantage for today's gaming using latest hardware/drivers, at least on ...

ssd

Currently I'm using a 500GB MSata drive on my XPS8700. Everything works and no issues with speed at all. Am I right in thinking that moving your OS onto an M.2 drive isn't noticeable, speedwise, as compared to an MSata or Sata SSD, but as a storage drive yes because of the 4xPCIe3 lanes?
