dog

Hi, I have been researching on here specifically recently, and looking into French bulldogs, possibly a cross of both the Frenchie and Boston terrier, but I see that doesn't guarantee cutting down on the inherent health problems of the brachycephalic breeds. I have been researching legitimate breede...

cats

We have two cats that go outdoors pretty often in the summer, and as a result, they get fleas. My GF treats them with Revolution, but it's pretty spendy, and I have a feeling there must be something else available for less than $40/go. If Revolution is the "best" option, any suggestions on where to ...

Hello All, My friend recently adopted a short legged dash hound from a dog shelter but she has really bad teeth she will probably need tooth cleanings and likely multiple tooth extraction. The quote they got was 1500 per tooth plus other expenses. This is quite expensive and they wont be able to kee...

cat

Looked at a house where the owner has been away for over a year, yet she's left her three cats in the basement (assuming a neighbour is caring for the cats). Anyway, took days for the smell to vacate my nose. How easy would it be to get rid of that odor from the basement?

pets

I did some research but wanted to know fellow RFD'ers opinions. Is there a certain age for pets that would be too old? Does it vary between cats and dogs? There's a silly conflict in my circle about this topic.

puppy

Anyone have any advice? I hear its quite effective but there are so many types out there.

pet

I'm looking for a place, aside from my vet's office, to purchase medication for my dog. I'm tired of the price gouge. This shampoo in particular. Side note, is petsdrugmart.ca a legit site? (Is there a place to check the legitimacy of online stores?)

dog food

Is anyone feeding Petsmart simply nourish? My gf gets pretty pissed at the fact that we have to spend $100 every 6 weeks on a large bag of orijen and has been on me about switching to simply nourish because her coworker feeds that (and I guess her dog is still alive, so, that's ...

Hey RFD, long story short my little pal was sick for about a month, turns out she had a stomach issue, the solution has been to turn to canned food, nothing else special needed but canned food is just easier for her sensitive stomach. The usual food I was feeding her (Orijen/Acana) do not offer a we...

Hi guys and girls, I am a Cat owner and animal lover. But I have no more room for another animal at my place. A bunch of friends (also animal lovers and pet owners) found a batch of kittens recently that were abandoned in the Bayview/Sheppard area. It's really cold right now out there...we don't wan...

Hey guys, My dog has been getting sick a bit recently, and the bills are piling up, so I'm thinking it may be a good idea to get some pet insurance. Does anyone happen to have any recommendations on a good provider in the Ottawa area? thanks!

I'm looking into adopting a rescue dog as it was recommended a while back to me instead of buying a dog from a store or a breeder. But it seems that it's not a good fit. We'd be first time pet owners and we have two toddlers (2 and 4 years old). It seems that every rescue dog I've looked at online r...

This is a fricking weird question and I have no idea where to even start so I thought I would ask the internet lol. My husbands grandmother died recently and left us to care for her Pittbull mix dog.
