I recently re-installed a whole home energy monitor, and have become obsessed with getting idle usage as low as possible (without giving up creature comforts like Google Minis, and Hue lights). Anyone else as insane as me? My general power usage at this home isn't too bad, ...

Toronto-based RFDer. Looking to experiment as a mobile live-streamer, so I'm willing to pay for overage speeds if it means I won't suffer reduced speeds. Not interested in a contract. Currently on Fido's $15/3GB data-only plan, with $10/1GB overage fees. As I am an existing Rogers postpaid mobile cu...

I finally tried Plex last night and I'm very impressed. It takes a fair bit of work but it's pretty good. My issue is that it's running on my desktop which is an overclocked 2500k, it's more than fast enough but I bet it's wasting loads of power. What would be a good way to get a Plex server running...

Aside from going the prepaid route, what is the best BYOD plan for a 72 yr old? He wants unlimited calling across Canada and a little bit of data here and there probably like 250 mbs. Don\t want to pay an arm and a leg as it is more for emergency purposes.

I'm researching on how old children start having cell phones nowadays and see the majority of parents citing "safety" and "tracking/following them" as the key reasons for giving their children a phone. I'm just so confused as to why safety and tracking children is such a big issu...

We moved into house 11 years ago, and immediately bought a treadmill, mainly for the wife. After a long time of having it idle, I fired up the treadmill again today. It says the cumulative usage on the treadmill is 11 hours.Hah. So that's on average 1 hour a year.
