Taking Pictures At A Casino

I always wonder if it is illegal/forbidden to take pictures inside of a casino? When I was vacationing in Atlantic City last year, I wanted to take a few shots of inside the casino for the memories but I have never seen anyone do it before. I was also paranoid they may take my camera and delete the pictures and could of deleting everything by mistake (which can be recovered but I didn't have access to a computer).

Why didn't you just ask security?

It probably depends on the casino. Don't try it at Fallsview, though. :D

That doesn't sound like "nicely".

Are you inventing words to compensate for your limited vocabulary and grammar?

"Neighborship" (or "neighbourship") is a real word, it's in my Oxford dictionary, and also online at Dictionary.com - so someone is indeed compensating for their limited vocabulary, but it ain't yao416!

You can't take pictures when you're at any particular stations - you can't use your phones or any such electronics period.

The decorations and non-gambling related stuff is fair game, though, afaik.

In almost all Las Vegas casinos, you're not supposed to be taking pictures. They are watching, and they will tell you to put the camera away. But you can probably grab a couple quick shots first.

Ya when I was in Vegas security told me not to take pictures in the casino. And that was when I was like 10yrs old and only had a video camera around my neck. I feared casinos the rest of the time I was there.

When I was at the casino in Montreal a couple years ago, my friend wanted me to take a picture of her just inside the entrance. A security guy came up after we took the shot and told us we couldn't take any pics. :(

Better than "we'll take you out back and destroy you and your camera"

Just do what they ask, but by all means you don't have to feel threatened by the security guards. They are there to protect the property but they can't take your camera away although they'll probably escort you outside if you refuse to comply with their requests.

It's probably something to do with cheating. They don't want someone to take a pic of a machine, find out what model it is and then try to figure out the weakness of this specific machine.
