got nothing as well. had nothing last promo as well. Do all my banking at alterna now. Might be time to close my accounts. The randomness of the promos is quite annoying.

Tangerine + ING Direct = TING :)

Formar ING bank, now Tangerine. So Tangerine+ING = TING.
It's been almost 5 years since the ING sale to Scotia, 3 years since the name change. It's time to move forward folks, adapt or die.

Did people continue to refer to Muhammad Ali as Cassius Clay? Is the Sony Centre still called the O'Keefe Centre? What about the Skydome?

Also:
1. Tangerine is only one character different from Tangering.
2. ING Bank in the Netherlands allowed BNS to use the name ING Direct for a year or two transition but insisted that they use a new name afterwards. The result was, of course, Tangerine(*). So TangerING is a subtle way of thumbing one's nose at ING.

(*) In light of TING's interest rate promo gimmicks I think BNS chose the wrong citrus fruit to associate with their brand. They should have named their new bank Lemon.

For the last 3 promos, I have been consistently getting ~3% promo rates in 3 accounts. All 3 accounts got 3.21% offer this time. Previously we got 3.25%, 3.25% and 2.8% in the accounts. I have been using only one of the 3 accounts to park funds (~ 450K to 500K).

Both my dad and I got 2.81%

I have a question:
The Offer is only applicable to Tangerine Savings Accounts and Tangerine Tax-Free Savings Accounts ("Applicable Accounts") from April 5, 2017 to June 30, 2017. A number of the same type of Applicable Accounts is defined as an "Applicable Account Type". Additional Interest will apply to net new Eligible Deposits of up to $500,000 per Applicable Account Type
Does that mean that if I had 10k in my TFSA and 0 in my savings as of April 5th, if I were to move 10k from TFSA to Savings, I will be earning the promo rate on 10k?

Thanks!

Went from 3.25% to 2.97%. Still happy! Moving my money back from EQ as soon as it clears from EQ's side.

There's a risk in doing that: TING could change the cutoff date to 30Jun. What I did this time was move everything out on 28Mar just in case. Then when they credited interest on 01Apr I moved that out as well. That was a Sat so it didn't actually move until a few days later, but still before the 04Apr cutoff. Even if the interest hadn't moved out in time the principal would have been out well in advance of the cutoff.
Yep, that's exactly what I did. I was surprised I still got the interest on the principle that I moved out of TING.

I had some money in the savings at 2.4% and got the offer for 3.21%. It says new funds so if I open a TFSA and move from the savings to TFSA that will count? And if there's another promo after this I'll move back into the savings? Would that work? Or does it actually have to be new funds from outside tangerine?
