So if I sign up and change my direct deposit I get 100$ but can I also get the 50 referral from a friend? Or is it one or the other?
You get $75 for changing direct deposit (it has to be for 3 months, I believe). You get $25 if you sign up and use the key Orange25 which is why it says you can get up too $100. However if you use somebody else's orange key you and that person get $50 instead of $25 you would get with orange25

Sounds good, since this bank provides lots of free service. And their cash back credit card has max 2% cash back. No FEES!

when you create a chequing account, what's the easiest way to confirm if you dont have any cheques? i remember when i created mine i didnt have to confirm at all, but now it's asking you to go to a branch or submit a cheque.

I think that's one of their methods of identifying you so I'm not sure if there's a way around that. Are you able to get a temporary cheque (that hopefully has your name printed on them)? I know some places still offer those without charge.

And added bonus is they automatically link the account to your tangerine account making transfers to/from easy

Edit: also if you use SwagBucks you can get 2000 points ($20) if you sign up for Tangerine through SwagBucks' link. I Havnt done it as I already have a tangerine account but I think you should be able to apply Orange25/orange key on top as well

Sign up through GCR, gives you another $24 cash back on opening a new chequing account
GCR has 3 offers for Tangerine... Savings Acct, Chequing Acct and Credit Card.

Anyone know if its possible to get rebate from all three?

Got the 25 instantly when I signed up didnt even have the $100 in there yet one payroll already went in no 75 yet, likely 3 months as someone mentioned or maybe when my 2nd job goes in this week, my paycheques are also deposited a day earlier than any other bank at 8pm est...quickest Ive saw besides this was Desjardins which is midnight, overall not a bad bank the deal breaker between this and PCF if you have a lot of PCF products to earn PC points is this $100

I don't think they will pay for both the chequing and savings account. I'm trying to do the the credit card and chequing account though. They credited me $40 instead of $24 for the chequing account click and I haven't heard anything about the CC rebate yet. I submitted an inquiry so I'll probably hear back after the weekend.

Thanks... how long it took for you to get the rebate
(First time using GDR so just wondering)

I clicked it Feb. 18th and the money was posted Feb. 27th. Then I had to wait another 2 weeks for the money to be available.

To clarify: if I have a friend that wants to join Tangerine, is the best case that I refer him and we each get $50 AND when he switches over his payroll he gets ANOTHER $75? So in total I'd get $50 and he'd get $125?
Or would we each just get $50?

You'd both get the $50. And if he switches his payroll over for about 3 months he will get an additional $75. You friend can also get another $24 if he signs up by clicking through to the Tangerine website from ********************

They got back to me but I won't know if I'll get the rebate until mid-May. Tangerine only checks a batch of these reports at a time, GCR collects them and sends them in the 1st of every month. Tangerine won't typically give a response back until the end of the month.

Good info, thanks... i signed up for Tangerine Savings a week ago, but i messed up on deposit by not signing the front of cheque... so CSR said you cant mess up during first time setup.. so i had to mail them the cheque.

They just received the cheque yesterday and will take upto 5 business days for deposit to clear... So im guessing i wont see anything in GCR until after a week or so... i dont mind waiting as long as i know GCR is paying out my rebate.

They got back with my inquiry. They are crediting me another $40 for the credit card application. So I got $40 + $40 from GCR when I opened the chequing account and the CC.
