2.5% interest for savings? That's double any other bank. Any catch other then the rate is subject to change notice?
Enjoy a great interest rate of 2.50% on all new deposits made by June 30, 2014
Is there any mention of how long the 2.5% interest rate is valid? I wouldn't put it past them to go back to 1.3% in July

I just checked my EXISTING savings account at Tangerine and it's still at 1.3%.

Are others at 2.5% already?

person on the phone said after june 30, it would be regular % on all amounts. so if you put 100k on june 29, u will earn interest for 1 day lol

that doesn't make sense for me, but hey! it's that lady who might not like her job!

I already am with PT. But PT savings is at 1.8%.

So I guess I will switch my weekly deposits between now and June 30th to my ING savings account (instead of my PT savings account) and then after June 30th transfer that money to PT savings account.

What do you guys think?

If you refer someone, you still both get $25 each.

You hold the key to $2,000

Share your Orange Key with your friends to unlock up to $2,000 in Bonuses. Every time a friend opens a Tangerine Account with $100 or more using your Orange Key, you'll both get $25. You will also receive an additional Bonus for every 10 friends you refer. The more people you refer, the more you can earn.

Noob question, If I transfer ALL the money I have in my PT savings account at the moment (lets says 5k) and put it in ING savings account, is that considered ¨New Deposit¨ and I will gain 2.5% interest for that 5k between now and June 30th?

absolutely! and you're lucky for that!! Because, I should have done the same... Get all your money to ING now, the 2.5% isn't based on new deposit, but more like (Amount after April 8 - Amount before april 8) x 2.5%.

One question for you, does People trust needs a minimum/charge any fees when you transfert out/cancel account?
