Looks that way in the application form online. Only one place to enter a referral Orange Key or this '2020' orange key.

From the Disclaimer it seems like if you open both the account (Savings and Chequing), you get $25 for both and $20 if you are with in the first 5000 customers to use 2020. If you register using the Orange key from a friend, you would not be eligible for $20 but will receive $50 on opening one account.

So just to summarize, i get 25 (for chq) + 25 (for saving) + 50 for orange key + 24 from gcr + 100 for direct deposit = 224.

Vs.

I get 25 (for chq) + 25 (for saving) + 20 for generic 2020 code + 24 from gcr + 100 for direct deposit = 194

No it is either $50 ($25 + $25) for using "2020" as Orange Key or $50 using a friend's Orange key.

So your totals would be $174 and $194.

One more difference is that with Orange key from a friend, you can just open a Chequing account and get $50 (orange key) + $24 (GCR) + $100 (direct deposit) = $174 without having to open a Savings Account.

My friend has a referral that gives both of us $50. Can that be combined with this? As in, can I use referral and then switch direct deposit to get the $100? The $20 using code 2020 is less than referral.

Edit: It was just answered in post above.

Would not recommend Tangerine to anyone. I tried opening a chequing account with them and it was a complete joke; very disorganized, too complicated, etc.

If you already have a chequing but not a savings account, can you get any bonus for opening the savings?

Mate... you must have been doing something wrong. It takes a few clicks of the mouse to create one. And the Tangerine website is fine and their mobile app is quite good.

Missed this by a month! I've been really happy with tangerine so far. Would recommend it to everyone who doesn't need a physical branch

how does Tangerine compare to PCF?

Any requirement to keep the account open?

No requirement to keep the account open. The only thing I understand PCF does better is free cheque books. Tangerine only gives you 2 free books, then you buy them.
