I had an interesting conversation with a TD CSR... I called in and told them I heard about your promo for aeroplan points for the aeroplan card. They told me you mean the 50k points plus 10k if you spend $1000 in the first three months for the platinum card?

I said ya that one. lol..

It's an $89 annual fee. So an extra 30k in points for $89 bucks... seems worth it...

Note: I can't find this advertised ANYWHERE, so either the rep made a mistake or it's something internal they have access to. I've made a note of the details in case i'm not credited. I'll let you guys know what happens.

That sounds more like the infinite privilege with the $399 annual fee. Good luck!

For those who opened the visa card, the annual fee is issued on the first month as I see now on my card, do we pay it then they credit back us the $120 or should I let it stay on the card then let the rebate put it back down to 0? I'm just worried if the $120 will have interest if I leave it after the first due date. Thanks.

I just paid it to save on the interest rather than having to call in for them to reverse it.

Think about the minor credit impact also for a missed payment

Well, I'd be paying off the rest of the balance minus the $120 annual fee so don't think it would count as a missed payment.
It certainly will. Pay it, or you'll be paying the full interest rate on the entire months charges.

Don't be foolish. Pay your full balance, fee included.

Fee will be refunded on the 3rd statement. It's how the prevent people from signing, taking the points an canceling the card immediately.

I now have ~100,000 aeroplan points, thanks almost entirely to the sign up bonus. I keep switching between the td first class and aeroplan every 6-7 months and I keep getting this sign up bonus every time.

What reasons do you tell them for switching between the 2 cards?? The agent always give me a hard time.

Never had to give a reason. I've the all inclusive account and my annual fee is waived. They didn't award me sign up bonus last time, but called and got it as goodwill credit.

Is there another offer for the TD Visa with 30,000 bonus miles that doesn't require signing up before May 4th?
