TD Waterhouse Private Investment Services

As per subject header, just wondering if anyone has used their paid fee services in which a financial advisor can manage a portfolio for you. I think it's $125 a year. Not sure if there's any commitment -how easy it is to get out of the plan, etc.

Thanks

Private investment services for $125/yr to manage your portfolio? What is involved, and provided?

They assess your financial goals, short and long and your comfort on investment risks. They then set up a portfolio based on that and recommend the investment path. Yearly review and reinvestments

Forget about the $125. The fees you will be paying them will be through your MERs. Let's say your portfolio has 2.5% average fees. The fees you are paying them is like interest on a mortgage, if you got a mortgage in 2016/2017. If you have a $500,000 portfolio, you will be paying 1 k/ month (not year).

Anyone body can do that. The question is what kind of portfolio would they set up, is only mutual funds and EFTs, or is it any stock, bonds, does this guy have access to pooled funds of 0 or almost 0 MER? What kind of fee(s) are charged after that, and what other services are included (e.g. estate planning, succession planning, tax planning, premium credit cards, free bank accounts, etc.)
