I recently steered a friend towards TS from Bell for both his phone and dsl connection. Service to connect the home phone was flawless 2 months ago. He was to be hooked up for internet April 13th which was when Bell was to cut off his Sympatico account. The Bell account was cut off yet no TS. As of yesterday after 4 calls to TS and I think 2 tickets, he lost his phone connection. I am definitely not impressed with TS service as you could tell the tech support was reading a script and also blaming Bell at every opportunity. Unfortunately I think TS needs to realize that customers are paying them and not Bell making it their problem. How can I get this elevated to a higher priority to get this resolved quickly. My friend is 82 yrs old and should not be without a phone. Thanks in advance for any help.

It probably is Bell who is causing the problem. I had similar problems when I changed to Teksavvy for internet and again when I changed my phone and long distance. I was without internet for about 2 weeks during the transition. I had no problems changing my phone serivce but long distance took about a week to change.

Bell Canada has priority service for seniors as does Teksavvy. If the DSL is down, that is one thing, but if the phone line is cut, you can do a 611 repair call, tell them it is senior and the turn around is under 24 hours. I had this happen years ago to my place and my folks are Seniors. I made the call at 9 am and the issue was resolved before noon (trucks came at my home within the hour).

Teksavvy cable is available in Guelph if you want to ditch DSL for faster speeds of cable.

Yes I just saw that today...buddy doesn't need the speed etc. I am under contract to Rogers until December..maybe by then all issues that will crop up will be resolved with the new cable internet.
Thanks to all who responded to my plea. Much appreciated.
His phone is back up yet still no internet.
