Telus Apple Watch Series 3 Deal

Just received below offer from Telus, is this a good deal? Any thoughts?

TELUS Offer: Get Apple Watch Series 3 for $0 upfront with TELUS Easy Payment.

How it works:
Finance Apple Watch Series 3 Aluminum Case 38MM for 24 equal payments of $22.92/month with $0 down. Add 1GB of data to share among your devices for $10/mo.
Thanks for the upvote! 😁

I assume this is for the 38mm LTE version, which retails for $519+tax. If you buy it through this Telus deal, it's $22.92 * 24 = $550.08, or $31.08 more than retail. The upside is you don't need to fork out $500+ all at once. So you can decide whether that is worth the $31 premium you're paying by going through Telus.

Does anyone know if you are required to activate a plan with this watch? Or you can just use it like regular series 3

You don't have to activate the watch with a plan to use it. I bought the LTE version but since I'm on Rogers I can't use the LTE functionality until Rogers starts supporting it.

I think for Telus it will work with the $60 10GB plan. It was Bell who didn't allow it at first, but I think even they are changing their mind.

my OG apple watch is on it's last legs.

I wonder if I could grab this even though I'm not a current Telus subscriber...

Again, why would you want to? You're paying $30+ more than if you grab one from the Apple Store.

true I'll probably grab one from the apple store. I'm with rogers though. I was looking for a cheap way to have data on the watch lol

Also I confirmed you need to have a current telus wireless plan to get this.

I tried calling Telus a few times and they all said the same think they cannot add the Apple Watch to a plan with non shareable data. The best plan they’d give me is $75 for 3gb then the 10gb watch plan with 1gb
