[Telus] Telus EPP Talk 25 contract

Did a search, and couldn't find anything recent on this (although they have had this promotion in the past).

If you belong to any of the following groups/rewards programs, and are not a current Telus customer, you are eligible for the program.

Groups (you don’t have to be an employee, just a member):

Airmiles
Aeroplan
CAA
Petro Points
Esso Extra
Cupe
(possible more)

And the plan:

$25/month + $6.95 System access fee + $0.75 911 fee
= $32.70 + tax ($37.28 in ON)

250 anytime minutes
Unlimited evenings and weekends after 6:00pm
Voice mail 3, call forwarding, call waiting, conference calling and caller ID

2 or 3 year contract, you also get PERKS and unlimited local calling on your birthday, plus 2 or 3 months unlimited local calling depending on length of contract.

This is not available online, have to go into a store and chat with someone for it.

Edit: Program only available in BC, Ontario and Quebec - valid until Dec. 31, 2006

Pretty good
This deal matches some of those Retention plans by Rogers

Normally there is some bargaining involved to get those Retention plans
However, for Telus, its pretty straight forward to get this plan !
Rogers Wireless: 200 day min.|100 bonus min.|Unl. incoming|2500 TXT|Call Display|Voicemail|Call Manager|Call Forwarding|My5 Local|6GB data|100 LD Canada|GRRF = $17.50+$7+$10+$10+$10+$30+$5+$2.58+tax-$32credits-10%bundle disc.=$62.06 tax incl.

Hmm....

Is this better or worse than my current deal?

100 anytime minutes
free Telus to Telus (most of my friends are on Telus)
unlimited evening and weekends starting at 7pm
voicemail, call forwarding, call display
per SECOND billing

for the same price.

This is the retention plan I got from Rogers

$20 + $6.95 (SAF) + $0.50 (911)
250 Daytime minutes
25 Anytime minutes
Unl. weeknights at 8pm
Unl. weekends
100 min. long dist. in Canada
Voicemail
Call Display
Call Forwarding
Call Waiting
Conference Calling
per minute billing

I think my plan may be slightly better. But not by much compared to the Telus deal.
After all, I had to bargain with them like 3 times before getting everything in place. I am still missing the Rogers-2-Rogers option. Fellow RFDers have that for FREE as part of their Retention plans.

What's EPP? I just signed a one year contract back in Sept for Talk and Spark 30. It's okay but I wish my free time started at 6 :( like this and this definitely has more daytime min. But it lacks texts which I frequently use. But nonetheless looks good!

Not available to current subscribers though... that sucks. I'm a long-term Telus Mobility customer and it definitely tops my plan.
After 2 years and 6 months in a 3 year contract, Telus offered my mom a pretty good retention plan without too much fuss for about 36 taxes in with

unlimited weeknight and weekends
150 anytime minutes
free early evening and weekend
waived calldisplay, voicemail
$6.95 system access fee
$.50 911 fee

Basically the EPP 25 with only 150 minutes instead and special pricing on a phone as well. The waived call display and voicemail would only last the length of the contract but I'm sure Telus will be getting a call when we're near the end of that contract again.

They also didn't include Manitoba, PEI, Newfoundland, Saskatchewan... you get the idea. Why do Alberta people always have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to these things? Try applying for contests/rebates from Quebec sometime.
