Telus just unveiled 750 mbps and 950 mbps Internet

As first discussed in DSLreports, Telus unveiled their Gigabit Internet, as a response to Shaw's recently launched 600 mbps internet.

Month to Month: 950 mbps down / 750 mbps up: $90/mo for first 3 months, and $150/mo thereafter, with 1TB of monthly data (+$15/mo for unlimited data).
Month to Month: 750 mbps down / 750 mbps up: $80/mo for first 3 months, and $140/mo thereafter, with 1TB of monthly data (+$15/mo for unlimited data).
2 year commitment: 950 mbps down / 750 mbps up: $115/mo for first 24 months, and $150/mo after, with Unlimited data.
2 year commitment: 750 mbps down / 750 mbps up: $95/mo for first 24 months, and $140/mo after, with Unlimited data. Link for details.

Don't know the area of coverage, but it appears to be in BC and AB so far.
Check your area and report below.

Does Telus even have ANY fibre in Calgary? Even entering addresses for multiple neighbourhoods into the Telus tool shows only basic internet speeds. It's like Telus Internet doesn't even operate in Calgary.

Seems to me that Telus is blowing a lot of hot air in Shaw's home territory but doesn't back up their marketing.

I'm sure most don't need 300+ mbps.

Give me cheaper prices please.

Can't find any sources right now on Google News, but there was some tension with TELUS and Calgary city council not issuing necessary permits for them to dig up and install fibre, it essentially made it not cost effective to do unless the city was willing to work with them. They've expanded the fibre footprint all around Calgary in other smaller cities.

What neighbourhood? I can't believe there is any address in Calgary where Telus marketing is actually true.

Telus does have FTTH (fibre to the home) it's typically in newer subdivisions. Really it's not as far reaching as Shaw's coax as it's everywhere. Back in June I swapped from Telus fibre to Shaw because of their deal (60/MTH 150/20 + 250 credit). I recently have been upgraded to 300/20 free of charge. I do agree this is fluff since most devices aren't able to handle those speeds. Symmetrical uploads are nice but nice most end users like me don't need it. 150 a month is an insult to their customer base if they want to stay competitive.

Definitely agree with this comment. Telus put me on month to month 300/300 for $65/mo and to me that is very decent value. They also gave me PikTV for $5/mo

I am in BC and currently have Telus 300/300 and I went to search to see these new deals....their site tells me that FIber isn't in my area yet.

I am thinking their maps are just broken right now.

1TB of monthly data? I'm at 1.5TB 3 days into my billing cycle this month alone with Shaw at 600mbps.
