Would have been nice if they did this a while ago. We live in a small town in AB and a small company called axia is running fiber in our town right now and we should be up and running in a few weeks. This plan is probably to compete with this company and others as we are going from wireless internet for $110 a month for 25m to $60 for the same speed but on a wired and far more reliable connection. Sorry Telus, too late.

I wonder how they limit the area. Must be restricted to certain towers.

I have a telus hub. I know i can use it throughout Canada.

Call your local Telus store in BC or Alberta, they will have access to the list of cities that can get this promo

If i can get this plan in Ontario, that would be great
The best you can get in Ontario is Bell 48.95/m 50GB + 50GB additional for 10.00 extra FLEX.

This is meant for people who can't get TELUS ADSL/VDSL in their area.
It's targeted.
If you live in an area where TELUS ADSL/VDSL is available, you will not be able to get the deal (unless the dealer ignores the condition)

Thinking about this and theoretical restrictions

If you had this pricing, regardless of company, and it was available to all Cdns, or maybe just the population who cannot get DSL/cable and
- locked to a Hub
- locked to a few towers around the address on account, so you could not move it around

This would STILL be a hit among the rural crowd.

If Telus can make a case for Alberta/BC, what is stopping the others and the other prov/territories????

This would be amazing if it was sold by the block and not monthly...

It's nice that companies are finally offering something like this. I don't understand why there's not more off-peak data plans for rural users. I don't live in the sticks but I'd be super pissed if I'd have to use Xplornet or some other shitty company instead of a real service
