Telus Internet 2yr Black Friday special - $500 prepaid visa

Apologies for the misinformation, as I was misled myself about the $500 prepaid visa promo, only for new and existing customers who bundle internet and optik TV service under 2yr term, those who have never received prepaid visa promos in the past. Sorry.

Too bad they suck in Calgary compared to Shaw... the fastest Telus can offer me is 15 Mbps.

That does sound pretty crappy, the max in my building is 50Mbps.

Yeah seems like they hardly spend any on infrastructure in this city, i'm in the NW suburbs.

So 50mbps is the fastest it goes? That's slow. If they offer 100 I will jump boat.

I just got internet 150 for $47 for 2 years. Figured that was good enough to hold me, a gift card like that would have been nice though

Apparently today and tomorrow, signup for 2yr contract for internet only (no bundle services required), for both new and existing month to month customers, get a $500 prepaid visa card. Whether it's the regular pricing for month to month or if we get the promotional $44/mnth for Internet50, not sure yet as I am still on hold (1hr wait time) to confirm, but that's the info I got from chat thus far.
Looking for internet deal as well, please let me know how it comes out

I'm currently on a student plan for unlimited internet 25 (which is actually 30mbit) for only $30/month.

Unless they offer something as good or better than what I have I don't think it's worth signing away for 2 years for something else, I would probably have to pay more for. $500 is enticing though.

Existing customer, internet 150 only for about one year at $47 (plus mobility for years too). Called retentions, they first offered it to me for 6 months no contract or if I signed for 2 years they would give it to me for $47 the first year and $65 the second. I took the 6 month deal and asked about pik TV deal which they told me the details and I said I would think about. Called back the next day, retentions again and mentioned my interest in pik TV again and they straight up offered the $47 two year, option for pik TV at $10 month, and they gave me a $100 credit.

I am nice to sales folks and explain my desire not to keep switching but looking for commitment from them.

I have been with Telus for a while; not under contract.

I was informed by a Telus Rep. on the phone that the Telus Black Friday sale is exclusively available for brand new customers only.

Just got off the phone. The $500 gc is only for those who have or will have both Internet and TV, at the regular rate. 6mnth no contract rate for Internet50 is $47/mnth, Internet75 is $55/mnth, or the same discounted rate for 24mnth duration under contract. Signing up for 2yr $47/mnth works out to a savings of over $1000, so I come out quite ahead than even if I was offered the $500gc but having to pay regular price for their service. I am a happy camper :)

Still waiting for my $500 is a card from promo offer. I am now hearing that this is a Telus prepaid gift card and can ONLY be used in Telus stores? Is this correct? If so was totally misled!
