Temporary Car insurance in LA, USA?
hi, im gonna go to LA on april 22 for 6 days
i will be driving my dad's car which is company leased
he is the only one insured for that car now
and from what i heard from my insurance agent, the system there is diff than here in BC
each driver must have insurance
theres no such thing as majority and minority driver there
so could someone give me some info on getting just temporary insurance for that leased car?
for me with a BC license?
thanks in advance!

Most company cars are only insured for employees of that company. Not sure how it works with a leased vehicle. Double check with the policy currently on that vehicle; it may need a rider to cover you while you are driving it. That would have to be arranged by the policy holder, not you.
You will probably need a special letter from ICBC stating your driving record so they can give you this rider. I had to get one of these letters when I moved to Ontario because insurance companies here don't recognize ICBC, since every driver who holds a BC license has basic insurance already.
