Tethering on Mobilicity/Wind

I am moving to Toronto in a few weeks and my school recommends I get an internet subscription since the on campus WiFi is slow. I was thinking instead, I could get a Wind or Mobilicity 4G phone and just use that as a mobile hotspot since it has unlimited data. Can anyone give me an idea about how fast/reliable that would be?
