Anyone know of a service that can send and receive texts from my PC, it can be paid and it has to have a personal local number(only me with access to the number).

I think you can get a real phone number with Skype, don't know what area code it would be though. Is it not possible to IM the phone?

I miss using MSN for texting, but now Skype wants to charge. I'm sure there are a million alternatives.

+1 for DeskSMS. The annual fee is minimal ($5 if memory serves).

Rarely do I advertise Robbers. But they have the RogersOne. Can be used from devices like iPhone, iPad, PC, iPod Touch, Macs, or most items with browsers. But that's only if you're with Robbers. It's an included free service
