[The Bay] $112 - Lodge P14W3 Wok

Seems like a decent deal (not hot by any stretch), but this Wok is around $120-$145 in most major retailers in Canada, when you include taxes and potentially shipping you're looking at paying atleast $150 all in.

The Bay has this marked down from $150 to $112, and with the VIP code you can get it to the same price taxes included (free shipping).

Great reviews on Amazon, I think the most highly rated Wok they had (4.5/5 stars on Amazon US based on 1100 reviews). The Canadian site has it for $118+ tax which means you still save around $30 if you buy it from the Bay.

The wok is great but the price is average. I got it last year around bf/bd for i think 60 or 70 plus tax. Bay generally repeats a lot of sales so itll likely be lower in the near future.

I have many lodge cast iron products, but not this one. I'm not sure why you would want cast iron for a wok as most Asian places seem to use carbon steel?

it depends on your stove... sometimes.. u will notice that the moment u add veggies or meat for stirfry, some stoves are not powerful enough to keep the wok hot... with this lodge wok.. because it is very thick and retains heat, it doesn't cooldown when you stirfry..

If you have a 15000BTU gas stove, carbon steel is the way to go

Good to know. My cooktop has 20k BTU so I will pass.

Thanks

We've had this wok for about 9 months now (bought it last Dec for around $60-70 from The Bay), and it's been working out very well on an electric range. Easy to maintain and to keep seasoned with oil. I'd also suggest waiting for a better deal on this.
