The imitations suck. Just buy a real g shock they aren't expensive. Plus good luck finding an imitation of the new 5000 models.

The imitations are "OK" as long as you stick to the digital ones. Don't buy any of the ones with analogue hands. I bought a few, and after awhile the hands just stopped moving. But the digital readout kept going. For $5 - 10, you can get a decently reliable watch to wear for gardening, painting, washing cars, etc.

Great deal. I think the follwing are great value

That triple sensor Rangeman for $209, mudman for 250 and twin sensor aviation one for 180 are all good deals. The military gshock for 80 something looks like a good deal as well.

The best watch deal seems to have been the Seiko prospex for 280. Would have jumped on it had i seen this before, now OOS.

All that being said, el-cheapo casios are just as tough if thats what you are looking for. I remember trying to destroy those as a child and failing for quite some time.

who's buying this garbage? whats the point of wearing a small 80's style watch? I've never heard of anyone breaking their watch because it wasn't rugged enough. anyway, they look ridiculously cheap.

G-Shock are the first watch I've owned that didn't fall apart on me. Meet SCUBA standards.
