Thanks but RFDer don't let other RFDer buy from The Brick.
Rule No.1 here: Buy first, Think afterwards.

The Brick is like Canadian Tire - always "60% off".

All right... but it shouldn’t be that bad as last deal from sears that closed, it can’t go any worse ?

A big box store is having a mattress sale? I've never heard of such a thing!

What's wrong with purchasing a mattress from the Brick? They are manufactured from the same company as the other stores. I purchased 1 on boxing day and I have no problem with it.

Did I get scammed?

Big box stores inflate the price. There's a high margin in commissions for the middle man. They mark up mattresses $2000, and on sale for $1300, but there's always room for negotiation. You can probably negotiate down to $1000, but in reality, the mattress costs $600. I used to work at Sleep country so I know.

Any suggestions where to buy a good mattress?

I got my last mattress at The Bay, around $900 including stacked discounts and whatnot. Maybe you could get a better deal from online retailers but testing a mattress for the right feel is extremely important. I think I tested three dozen at The Bay and all the other big box stores (Sears, Sleep Country, the Brick, Leon's) before settling on one that I had really liked early on.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will keep those things in mind.

Brick is terrible. Customer service is bad, delivery is slow. It's not worth the hassle dealing with them. I have personally worked with them on the business side, equally bad. I don't understand how they are still in business.

Costco is the best for mattresses... if you don't mind getting a basic mattress.

Best return policy... I saw an old guy returning a heavily used king sized mattress that was covered in brown and yellow stains...

And what do you know... mattresses were on sale that week!

Poor customer service agent that had to deal with that... lol

14500 or 1450?

They really are aware of this and at a local Brick they even said as much. I have been told by their sales people that if you don't see a mattress you like on sale, come back another week. They even went on to say that they could take my phone number and let me know when a mattress model of choice was on sale.
