thanks op, I'm hoping the scratch and dent does not affect the picture and only the bezel or frame. I will take 50% off for that. I would also take a chance on an open box, somebody had a change in heart and returned.

Price for the Samsung 55" is not too bad.
Is not 50%off because orginal price seams inflated.
Better deals was Samsung 7000 at best buy with same money!

But still not too bad

Putting it in my basement so not concerned with scratch and dent unless the picture is affected. Site says no performance issues, only cosmetic I think.

There are lots differences between series 6 and 8 expecially in media player and Internet functions
