Are there any difference in terms of burn quality among different burning software?
Just wondering whether using different burning software affects burn quality with CDs and DVDs.
My computer comes with a copy of NTI CD&DVD Maker. Would Nero provide better burning result or is the difference only in terms of interface and features?
Thank you and sorry for this kind of stupid question. Really curious to know.

I not sure but i don't think it affects the quality but Nero is much easier to use. It also have buffer underrun protection which means you won't waste your discs

Been using nero for years and have no complaints. Features (to me) is what separates the different software.

The difference between wanting and needing is how you justify it.

Quality will matter more depending on the Recorder you are using. If you are using some cheap DVD Recorder, it will produce cheap inferior copies, regardless of what program you use. Also the media is just as important as the recorder.
The program just instructs the recorder on how to record. So there should be no difference between programs. Unless your are using something like Alcohol, which tries to emulate copy protection.
Buffer Underrun is also a hardware feature. Even if NTI supports it, it is useless if your Recorder does not

Actually, there is also software based buffers.
But generally, the only way different burning software can affect burn quality, is when the software crashes mid burn
