which of these two laptops is a better deal?
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...17&catid=20354
or
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...5&catid=11520#
both are what im looking for...small, affordable laptops that (i assume) will be able to run MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, Winamp, MSN messanger and the Internet (if im at York, will i need anything besides the laptop to browse the net?)...
one is 800 + tax...the other is 850 + tax...both before adding a Product Service Plan (are PSPs a good idea on aveartecs?)
please help!

I'd grab the bestbuy one, based on specs. It is slightly slower but it has DVD+/-RW And CD-RW Combo Drive, lighter, longer battery life.

Man just save yourself time and buy a Dell. Not the best but at least there's a garantee and you can order extra batteries N stuff. My buddy had a Averatec 3100P and it was good for 2 weeks then the Adapter shorted out and then the LCD had dead pixels. Each were shiped to U.S.A. and waited a long time. If you want deals I know a couple RFD guys that work for big companies and can give you a discount. Legit man cause my buddy just bought a 710M from him.
Or for really good quality buy a Thinkpad X or Toshiba. Anything I pull out of my ass is better than Averatec.

I'd get the Dell Inspiron 6400 dual core for $999 and free shipping

If you are gonna get the Averatec laptop, I'd advise the PSP on it, because generally they will just give you a brand new lappy, instead of replacing the broken part.
