I haven't really tracked the price of the x1 carbon. Is this a lower price than it usually is?

same thing here. great machine, got the ultradock for $40 locally and im at $1050 all in for a very powerful machine with desktop replacement ability lol.

the carbon is nice, but if your going with the carbon at 1920x1080 might aswell save $300+ and get the t450s. plus carbon is not upgradeable really.

I guess you can upgrade the SSD on this thing but RAM is soldered so your stuck with 4 or 8 GB depending on what you choose.

Needs an/the extra 15% off on top of the price, as was the case for a few days when other posters in this thread got the T450s early in June.

A sleeker and lighter form factor then the T450s,as well as the QHD screen option. Also some features standard that you pay nominal amounts for on the T450s. But you are really paying for the physical form factor, which may not matter to some, but certainly does to others.

Was looking this time last month, and even without the 15% extra, I could configure (which is nice in of itself) something they would be very temtpting to pull the trigger on, now that I've done my research on the Carbon and it's price points and it's comparisons.

But stumbled across a smoking hot clearance deal on a factory refurbished Yoga2 Pro since, and even with all of its issues (terrible yellow colours, flaky wireless card, Bilingual keyboard) couldnt pass on the features it did have, for the insane price I got it for, so no longer in the market.

I saw the deal in June but could not decide if I want T450s because of boxy form factor from pictures, but may be in reality its not that bad... any comment from people who bought this?

T450s to me looks like 1970s laptop, Isn't it too bulky?

T450s is a great compromise between the sexiness of an Ultrabook and the practicality of a larger notebook you can open up yourself and upgrade. Also, more ports is a big plus for me.

For those with the t450s among other models, Newegg seems to sell the official 6 cell battery much cheaper than anywhere else. Shipping hurts a little.

for real.

the t450s is sleek for what it carrys. i mean, i dont use it but you cant get much slimmer and have VGA + Ethernet full ports on the side, along with removeable ram and full size ssd (non pci-e - pci-e is great but too pricey atm).

its lighter than most laptops, the macbook pro is a bit sleeker for sure, but when you pick them up its the same ish.

id argue the t450s construction is going to last much longer than an x1 also.

for those that think its "ugly" ... meh, i like the look personally. not to mention it doesnt hurt to get taken more seriously than pulling out some gimmicky thing.

IMHO, If it looks like something from the 70's, it is less desirable to steal. Unless you are familiar with what is under the hood, it is not something the average person would want.
My X23OT when connected to the docking station looks ancient.
