Gotta pick mine up from ct.
Could someone pls tell me if this comes in a cardboard box/package and if so approx dimensions? Or is it just the actual cargo box?
I haven't put the rack on my camry yet and i'm hoping it'll fit in the trunk...

This thing with the box is GIANT. i have a wrx wagon, had to fold down the back seat and lean the front passenger seat all the way back, take roof box out of the cardboard box, then it will BARELY fit. u are not fitting that in a camry sedan. this thing is too long and too wide to fit in the opening (of your truck) :)

it actually takes about 30 seconds to install or remove it, i'd definitely do it if i had somewhere to store it... but then also occasionally you dont really know you're gonna want/need it until its too late and then it doesn't do you much good in the garage
This is like saying i am gonna buy a pickup truck incase i need to buy a few piece of 2x4x10 twice a year...

maybe keep it at a friend's house, and they can use it as well. really, this large roof box, is not something u would need out of nowhere. lol

All of the stores are showing QTY 1 stock levels for the Convoy Large. Based on previous comments, I wonder if these are all floor models.

Not the store I was at. Stock showed two and there was one another up on display. That said, staff were initially unsure where the second was for a long time.

Regarding rain cheques, this store was very hesitant to offer a rain cheque.

If you have roof rails you should be able to shift the crossbars forward.
If you have fixed crossbars (older crv Gen) this poses a problem for the Alpine, I don't think it will fit. But, I know the large convoy should fit fine on a 2010 Gen crv you just need to shift the box forward a bit.

Edit I may be wrong about the 2011+ crv factory rails, they may only work at fixed locations... Then Alpine would be a problem

Any tips on picking up Thule roof racks in Canada? Seems the small number of retailers who carry Thule all sell for the same price as Thule themselves (ie. Thule controls the pricing)? Wingbar Evo + Evo Clamps + Vehicle specific fit kit = $689.85+tax =$780. Checking into slightly older versions of these models on Kijiji but nothing solid yet.

I have the same question but extended to Yakima too. My dealership sells rola for $401 but when I look into it, they only have a weight capacity of 110lbs, while the Thule and Yakima are 165-200lbs, which seems much more reasonable.

Actually, I’m open to other good brands too (rhino?), mostly concerned about proper fit and higher weight capacity but at a decent price.
2015 wins: Trip for 2 to NYC with airfare, limo, hotel and insurance ($3700); Maple Leafs tickets($250); 32GB HTC One M9 ($700), Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1($200), Samsung Galaxy Note 5($850), Aukey 2 port fast car charger($23), Fitbit Flex ($120), Blue Piston Bluetooth Speaker ($30). 2016 wins: nada

Looks like I might be able to get the Aerobar kit for $670, which would be $70 less than the Thule price. I'm actually a little torn because while I prefer the look of the Aeroblade style, the Wingbar style has a higher weight rating and is longer if additional length is needed. I'm going to ask for a price for the Wingbar kit too and will let you know what I find.

Edit: now that I look again, it seems they both have the same weight capacity. I could have sworn I saw the Wingbar was rated for 220lbs while the Aeroblade is 165lbs, but it seems like they are both 165lbs. I'll still ask about the price on the Wingbar kit.

Looked around quite a bit myself for deal. I think Thule offers prodeals to certain industries.. possibly ems? I think it's something like 25-30% off.

Otherwise, best I've seen is either a sale or no tax event at Rack Attack... You can also try kijiji for the bars and just buy the car-specific adapter new.

Did you slide the box as far forward as you can?

Yes... the best solution i found is to put rubber pad on the back cross bar to lift to box a little bit, by doing that the tailgate is still touching the box but is high enough for me.

Thx

How often does RackAttack have sales? I'm willing to be patient ;)
