Ticket Scam
I bought some concert tickets a few weeks back and met the seller face to face. I paid him in cash and got ticketmaster tickets (not e-tickets). The day of the event, I find out that he reversed/refunded the tickets which have now become void. I must say that I bought it kijiji but I found him here on rfd.
I was just wondering how helpful it would be to go to the police about this issue (I already know they can't get my money back). I have his phone number, name (well, the one he gave), and since then, he has made more of these ads. I was wondering about how I should proceed. Thanks a lot.Last edited by aquazangel; Jun 14th, 2011 at 12:04 PM.

Not much to go on. I'd suggest reporting all his Kijiji ads as fraud, and calling his cell until he deals with you.

A friend of mine ordered tickets and lost them (or they never arrived in the mail, I can't remember which). She got replacement tickets issued and they specifically said "replacement" on the new tickets. I'd assume (but have no idea how they do it), that the original tickets would be void. I also recently bought tickets and they offer insurance for $8 per ticket that you can buy if you need to cancel and you'd get a refund. I'd think they would ask you to return the hard tickets in that case, but don't know what their process is.

Most venues now scan the ticket bar code upon entry rather than taking the stub off. I would assume that if fraud or a refund were involved, those tickets would get flagged.

His name might be Anthony Shibo. He seems like a prominent ticket reseller. Has his own store on ebay but it has lots of positive feedback. http://myworld.ebay.com/tonyshibo/
If the money was large, get his address through Paypal.

Oh wow...props for finding his ebay store. Thanks so much. I want to get my money back but as I'm not really sure how to approach it. If I can get some advice, that'd be great. Should I call and demand the money back first or directly contact the police (who have told me that they can't get my money back)?
Also, it was a significant amount of money. How do I get his address from paypal (is it even possible because I actually met up with him and paid cash)? Thanks againLast edited by aquazangel; Jul 24th, 2011 at 01:12 PM.
