These prebuilt models aren't very good for upgrades, most are small form factor with limited resources available.

how would these computers fair on day to day work . we need to have a couple "shop computers" running 24/7 . all we really need is a bunch of p3's 800 mhz but also need stability .

most of those would have really old hard disks and cpu fans you may want to pop a new disk and fan in there but otherwise if they are clean they should last for years, those old pentiums are proven reliable.
