Sounds like the usual marketing trap/crap. Buy it because it cheap. I'm pretty sure if I would do a dog poop clearance sale, 90% off.
Some people would buy some.

Sounds like previously frozen donuts don't sell well.

Sounds like they get hit with low sales numbers for the 1st 2 weeks of Jan every year. Same with McD's...that's why they always have these Jan promos.

i think it's prob a combination of going into a slow sales season and McD's beating them on the better coffee +cheap muffin deal. rang up in ciniplex on the cheap tonight and i was pleasantly surprised ;)

Depends on whether or not the original price was fair market value ;)

Yea! How dare they reduce the price of their goods!

It's good marketing. I think it's funny that they're tempting the millions of Canadians who have "losing weight" as one of their New Years resolutions.

Sweet. Sounds like a good treat for after my 5km hike with a weighted pack. That hot chocolate would be welcomed this first week of 2013 as we are getting double digit cold temps in toronto. You can always save that dounut for later eating while on a hike or fridge it for later snack.

50 cents a donut is worth a nationwide announcement ?

McDee's 1.39 muffin and coffee is still the standard to beat !!!
