Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. My command 2 is going strong, I use it for my daily commute and it nearly always meets my demands. My only issue is that it’s a bit small but no bag can be slick and high volume.

I have a couple of their messengers and I like them. Hold up well for me. I will take a look at what’s on sale.

Couldn't agree less about quality. I have a backpack, two carry-on size travel bags, and a camera bag from them and they all hold up remarkably well.... with a lifetime warranty to boot...

I concur, it's over-hyped nowadays, and the price is 100% due to marketing than actual value. The "lifetime" warranty doesn't cover much, but you wouldn't find out until you bought a warranty voucher for 25 USD, sent your bag to SF, Cali (own expense or through the store), and waited 6-8 weeks to find out. And it's not like it's an exception, the bags start falling apart a few months in.

See: https://www.timbuk2.com/pages/warranty-repairs "We'll reach out once your item is received to let you know if the item is covered. If it isn't you'll be responsible for the repair fee of $35 for oversized items (like rolling luggage) or $25 for all other repairs."

Too bad I can't find the page to buy that 25$ repair voucher on their website, it had abysmal reviews of botched repairs.

Their lifetime warranty is a scam. My bag has material defect (I sent a lot of photos) and brought into Toronto store (which they agreed was defect), the customer service online still said I need to send it in to 'assess' whether it's eligible.

Were they gonna replace it? Possibly, but to upfront pay $25 USD with the possibility of not is kinda lame.

*With that being said, this is my personal experience... if you can get bags that are 50-70% off (not considering warranty) and they fit what you need, it's a decent deal.

Good to know. I've never had to use the warranty service but that doesn't sound great.
I bought many of my items a few years ago so I'm wondering if there's been a quality shift.

Get the parker, easily fits a week of travel and can easily pass as a carry on, on even budget airline tickets! Should be more than enough for your commute!
