If I recall correctly, I got mine around 7 years ago.
The Apex 600-a from FS for $ 399.99
The big thing with that unit was it macrovision free and it played MP3s at the time which was fairly rare.
It's still kicking around with the Malata that was purchased around 3-4 years ago._______________

My first DVD player was the Panasonic 310. $900.
My first movie was Dark City. Must have watched that 20 times since it was the only disk I had for a few weeks.
Now that I have a PS3, I won't really be buying any more DVD's (especially since I've joined zip, I've bought far fewer disks). Only BluRay disks from now on.

My first DVD player was my Lite-On LDW-401S for my PC. Later I bought a PS2, followed by a Samsung DVD player, then an RJtech DivX/DVD player, and finally a Panasonic DVD Recorder. I also have ~17 other DVD burners for my PC now.
I plan to buy a Blu-Ray player this year, either a PS3 or a LiteON Blu-Ray burner (or both)._______________
