Those PS3 HDMI cables are pretty bad. I have one and had many problems.

I've never had a problem with any of them, even at 1080p - though I do keep them on 720p/1080i sources just to make sure (they are only certified for 1080i), and use higher-quality cables for 1080p links.

The deal here is that you *also* get an optical TOSlink cable (which I needed - RCSS sells these for $14.99 a shot - overpriced I know...) along with the HDMI cable, and at the time of purchase, there was no tax at RCSS.

If I'm not sure I need a 3 ft or 6 ft, I'm better off just paying $1 more for the 6' then I can just wrap up the unused portions easily if I have leftover?

Sure, but as 6' is overkill you might want to check out the 4' and 5' HDMI cables at Monoprice - I bought 6 (3 of each) and replaced the old 6' ones and now I have a lot more space in the back of my TVs.

Maybe but if all you need is a working HDMI cable you better get something else. My HDMI cable have mechanical problems, the connector is loose and it keeps disconnecting.

Factory Direct has a coupon currently: 2 3ft HDMI cables for $9.99. Not super hot, but the cheapy ones at MP, with shipping, come to about the same price. Picked up 2 yesterday in London, thickness is pretty nice... right length for me, to run to the autoswitch.

Sure, and one of my cables from Monoprice was dead-on-arrival, so you can get a lemon anywhere. Be very careful quoting overall reliability from a sample size of ONE.

How much is shipping to Canada, and which company they're using. I had very bad experience with UPS recently, some other store shipped through regular UPS, and brokerage fee came almost 60% of my bill.
I swear, never again with UPS, of course if there is choice. Not sure which shipping company Monoprice is using.

Any order with a total value of under $20 is not subject to UPS's anal brokerage and taxes.

Monoprice lets you select USPS anyways.
