Toilet Issues

One of the toilets in my house has not been flushing throughout the last couple of days. The water in the bowl swirls, however, some water does leave, but all the water doesn't exit the bowl. I have tried both liquid soap and plunging, and it worked excellent...for about 2 flushes only. After 2 flushes, the outcome is the same as before.

Any suggestions?

you can rent a sewer snake from Rona or Home Depot and give it a good cleaning, the hand one is good for toilet or a sink trap, but if you want to do the main line get the power one

I had the same problem many moons ago. couldn't figue it out. pulled the toilet out, put it on the edged of the bathtub and every thing seemed fine, until I put some toilet paper in it. Turns out that my little nephew threw a piece of plastic that got caught inside the toilet ptrap!!!!

One other thing to check is the holes the water coming into the tank flows through. If it's not coming in with enough force, nothing moves. So, there are probably a bunch of little holes around and just under the rim of the toilet. They sometimes get clogged if you have hard water (you may also have a hole about the size of a quarter at the front, bottom of the bowl and it gets clogged too). You can poke out the hard water deposits with a needle or soak them with vinegar (soaked rag along rim but it's kind of hard to keep in place long enough to dissolve the deposits).

This happened in one I house I had a few times and it was always those holes.

Try the snake first. If that doesn't fix it, there's a possibility something is blocking the vents in your drainage system.

I'm going to check my vents and try draino. I'll let everyone know my solution after I have fixed it.
