They're not frozen and have a month or so expiry date. Spongy with a banana filling...taste great but I have not seen them in Van or T.O. I picked up a few boxes at NRT Airport.

No. They don't sell it in Toronto. Shelf life is around 2 weeks from what I've seen.

I assume they're frozen? Currently in Vancouver but will return to Toronto next week.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it at Pmall. Either the snack store in the back or the one that specializes in Japanese snacks in the cell phone aisle. There was a poster advertising them.

Even if they do sell it, the mark up price is 3x the original.

I vaguely remember seeing a photo of Tokyo Banana being sold at T&T Supermarket

As far as I can tell that was a one time promotion where they imported 150 boxes and you could pre-order for $39 a box.

Are there anything special about them? Someone brought us a box from their trip to Japan but I didn't realize they were sought after.

I would rather eat an actual banana, rather than a pastry that looks one if that were the case.

T&T sells them once or twice a year during their Japan event.

Well, it's not meant to be a replacement for fresh fruit.
