True but not always the case, here is a guy who bought the G1W for $52 just to find its fake.wilsonlam97 wrote: ↑In my experience, the fake ones are usually substantially cheaper ($30-$45 vs ~$55 USD).
All I am recommending is to proceed with caution till someone receives one.

I guess if you want to be safe you can buy it from this seller. I bought mine from them and I'm very happy with the product I received. They also have 200+ reviews.aasoror wrote: ↑True but not always the case, here is a guy who bought the G1W for $52 just to find its fake.

A friend of mine has the GW1 and even after the car is turned off his camera is still recording after the set number of minutes was set to turn off. Someone else should probably check this out to see if it's happening on other cameras.

I bought this dash cam from FoxOffer back in January for $59.74 CAD all in.
Coupled with this $2.38 USD mount I bought with it (link), it's been great.
I use a Lexar 32GB Class 10 MicroSD I bought for $14 from Walmart during their boxing day sale.

After reading some forums, is it true that the fake ones record in AVI and the real ones in MOV? Please someone confirm if that's the case...

This looks like a great dashcam, I've read many threads on rfd regarding this subject but didn't see the answer for this. Do the majority of installers wire it directly to the fusebox?. As read above, each minute is 100megs, what happens when the card is full?. Do you have to delete the previous video every time it's full or does it overwrite it?

5 minute clips are 459MB in size each.shadow_cruiser wrote: ↑This looks like a great dashcam, I've read many threads on rfd regarding this subject but didn't see the answer for this. When the card is full it will overwrite the oldest clips first. This is a setting you need to enable though, so it doesn't do it by default. I believe it's called loop recording or something.
Genuine G1Ws (including G1WH, G1WC) record in MOV format. Usually fake ones are recording in AVI format.

So if one wants to use a GPS unit at the same time as this camera, one usually also needs a 2-way car charger adapter like this ? Is that the best solution?wilsonlam97 wrote: ↑Terrible. It only lasts about 10 minutes because it's supposed to be tethered to your car. The battery is pretty much for helping the camera keep time.

They install it directly to the fusebox with an automotive double fuse tap https://www.google.ca/search?q=double+f ... 21&bih=958

Here's some samples from the G1W. The only issue is the cheap feeling mount that can cause some vibration unless you tighten it a lot

My problem would be solved if they use a Micro-USB port. The Mini-USB port is too fat to go in. That's why it pops outwilsonlam97 wrote: ↑Idk. Try a different cable?
