to hell with the CBT
The Mets have gone over the highest tax threshold with their last 2 signings. Any money spent over the threshold will have a 90% tax. That means one year of Nimmo and Robertson will cost the Mets $58 million Face With Open Mouth. And they are still looking to add players.

The NY Post says the Mets payroll could reach $400 million, not that I usually believe what they write, but I believe this.

The Mets are owned by a billionaire, Steve Cohen, who wants his team to win. He will do whatever it takes it seems.

The Blue Jays should too but when they are controlled by bean counters it won't happen. The Blue Jays, aka, Rogers, only really want to make money.

Totally. Bogaerts is already 30 years old, he'll already be a shell of his former self by 35-36, nevermind the 11th year of this contract when he'll be 41.

Maybe they hope he'll retire when he's 38. Face With Tears Of Joy

Wow!!

What's the status with Conforto? Is he still unsigned, I forget now since he didn't play in 2022.

Perhaps Jays should take a gamble on him as a lefty bat. But should have done it early while teams were focused on the bigger names.

Once the Mets get Senga it will be well over 400 mil. since they are at 380 now with all the luxury taxes added. They already said they want Ohtani when he becomes a free agent next year too.

Even if he retires they will still have to pay him. I mean the Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla Face With Tears Of Joy

The Jays will probably end up with Joey Gallo. They can have a "golden sombrero" giveaway at the ballpark in his honor.

Kevin Kiermier agrees to a deal...he better not turn into Shea Hillebrand...hopefully his speed will top Tapia..least an upgrade over Zimmer

Blue Jays turning into a modeling team..

Hopefully him and Kirk sort out that card issue internally

At least KK bust it down the line every time. Maybe that will rub off on the rest of the team.

And there is no such thing as an upgrade over Zimmer Face With Stuck-out Tongue

Gotta say it - I called the Kiermaier deal way back in late summer.

It was obvious that TB wasn’t going to pick up the option on Kiermaier and it makes a lot of sense for the Jays: KK is an awesome fielder with great speed and base running skill, he is a LH bat and will get Springer out of CF when he plays...vs RH pitchers. He is not a great hitter, obviously, but he makes things happen.

How great of a signing this is will come down to contract details.

Once Rodon comes off the board...time to panic it seems we are saving the money for Vladdy and Bo Extensions

Looks like Shatkins will pivot to the B/C types left
