Not just a bat flip, the idiot also did a home run trot and cost himself and his team extra bases. That wasn't even close to a no-doubter like Bautista's bat flip homer (and Edwin's bat drop homer in the wild card game last year). Hope he gets beaned a few times this season for the hypocrisy.

Hypocrite. The guy is talented as hell he just needs to keep his mouth shut and his fists in his pockets.

Spring training doesn't really count, but really hoping it's a sign of good things to come, from Pillar at the plate.

His .260's average is not horrendous, but lack of walks and high strikeouts is what he needs to improve upon.

What's his OBP in spring cause that is the key, if he can keep it at around .330 with his superb defense that should be fine and put him in the top 10 MLB CF's

.260 was referring to his career avg. This Spring he's hitting .333 and on base .444

I believe his career on-base is about .300, so really hoping he can put it together this season. 330's would definitely be good and allow Gibbons to leave him at leadoff even when Travis is back...assuming he is who will bat leadoff to start, since he has been there in every Spring training game he has played.

It's too much of a waste having Bautista leadoff, but if no one can fill the void, they might have no choice.

I don't trust Pillar in the lead-off spot I mean if he can keep a .330+ OBP up maybe but also consider he's not a great base runner and does not steal bases. Speed is one thing but learning how to read pitchers and base running is a skill that he lacks.

Really hope Travis gets healthy soon.

So true. We need all hands on deck and very few injuries to succeed this year.

Gibbons got a two year extension. Not sure what the rush was to lock him up. Should have let the season play out, and then evaluated your options.

Back to back years in the ALCS and having a lame duck manager is never a good thing. Extending him was a good move. He deserved it.

The post game interview humour after he and Donaldson had the minor dugout exchange was gold, and reason enough to lock him up for another two haha.
