"Sparkman" fizzled out already. He was so bad that he has already been Designated For Assignment.

The Jays brought back Bolsinger who was never picked up off waivers by any team in the league.
Maille finally hit something but he should be sent down to the minors. The Jays managed to find a worse hitter than Josh Thole.

Gibbons needs to start riding whoever is pitching well instead of giving each bullpen pitcher an attempt at a 1-inning appearance.

I knew Jays would make a run for him the second he was released. However, I don't know that someone who will call out one of their own teammates is the right "character" guy for the clubhouse.

That said, with guys like Bautista, JD, Tulo, Martin, et al in there, I'm sure they can keep him in line.

I don't mind it though, as it gives Maile an opportunity to go back to minors to work on his hitting. Montero, puts up decents numbers at the plate and gets on base, so hopefully that can help spark some offence.
Montero is also the guy who complained about his lack of playing time immediately after the Cubs won the WS. He'd better do it with the bat, cuz he is a terrible catcher and worse clubhouse guy.

He will be kept in line by Bautista, TT and the rest of the veterans. If not release him, nothing lost.

Nice how Girardi is not afraid to pull a veteran like CC after in the 3rd and keep the game within reach, Gibby seems to leave them in longer than he should.

Time to give JD a break, he has looked awful the last couple of weeks, don't know if he is playing hurt or not but his average is down to .240.

As he has done in the past, Gibbons leaves Estrada in until he gives up the lead. And you put in new catcher to catch a pitcher who has had issues for the past month.

Frustrating to watch Gibbons give games away the last couple of weeks.

Solid win for the Jays.

However, Estrada is quickly becoming the worst pitcher in the starting rotation.

Notes for tonight:
* Blue Jays win the series! Blue Jays are back in the winning business!Smiling Face With Sunglasses
* (singing) "Pinetar, Pineda!" :twisted:
*How is Betances an all-star? Throws 99-100 mph and can't throw it for strikes.
*No fancy victory celebration between Osuna and Montero.Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes
*The Blue Jays haven't played their best stretch of baseball games yet. The Blue Jays have a much better hitting approach the past 2 games. Hopefully, this is the beginning of the turnaround.
Blue Jays are known as a very good second half team. Blue Jays still has a chance to win 100.Smiling Face With Sunglasses

The Jays beat Houston and put up 7 runs on the board.
Hopefully the flukiness continues.

Aaron Sanchez makes his first start off the Disabled List tomorrow.

Liriano struggling early... here we go bullpen
Struggling early? Other than the HR he looked pretty good.
Probably his best outing of the season.

Wouldn't consider it flukiness. They have done well against everyone else (25-20) except the AL East and specifically Baltimore and recently Boston.

I consider it a fluke because:

Lately the Jays have been making very high ERA starting pitchers look like aces.

Houston has by far the best run differential and record in the MLB this year up until now. They are now 31-10 on the road
which is outstandingly good. Houston has averaged almost 7 runs scored per game this year on the road, and the Jays held them to 4 today.

The Jays are more than 10 games below .500 against teams in their own division in the A.L. East.

And again specifically Baltimore and Boston and they are 5 games over .500 against the rest of the league. Until last week and in the past two months, only the Astros had a better record than the Jays in the American League. I know, hard to believe.
