he was the Braves 2nd choice behind Dayton Moore. Sounds like he will have the final decision on baseball related matters and Inherits one of the best farm systems in baseball. will be interesting, good to see a Canadian kid make it big
Look for some blockbusters in the coming months.

I hope not, but hopefully they work. btw, Canadian GM, all-star 1st base - Freeman and highly rated pitching prospect - Soroka. Meet Canada's team!

hopefully this organization is working over time doing whatever they can to bring the japanese "babe ruth" over next season. performances like yesterday aren't providing much of an enticement.
Atkins says Jays are "extremely prepared" for Ohtani
The Toronto Blue Jays are "extremely prepared" when it comes to their pursuit of Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani, general manager Ross Atkins told reporters during the first day of Winter Meetings on Monday.

GM Ross Atkins says #BlueJays are “extremely prepared” when it comes to Shohei Ohtani and he believes a two-way player could work, especially in the American League.

Ohtani's Japanese team, the Nippon Ham Fighters, will allow him to pursue MLB opportunities this off-season. The 23-year-old, who is known for his ability to pitch and hit, has already stated he intends to play in North America next season.
Atkins notes a two-way player like Ohtani could work in the American League.
Ohtani hit .332 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs over 65 games in the Japan Pacific League this season. He also owned an on-base percentage of .403. In 2016, Ohtani smashed 22 homers with 67 RBIs and a .322 average over 104 games.
On the mound, Ohtani posted a 3-2 record with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.263 WHIP over 25.1 innings pitched. Ohtani had a 10-4 record with a tiny 1.86 ERA in 2016.
Ohtani had ankle surgery last month.
Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better is best.

I would be shocked if Ohtani signed here.

Dodgers have the inside track on him because Darvish is his idol and they communicate... that's probably why the Dodgers got Darvish (because it certainly wasn't to perform in the World Series haha).

Yea the team with an unlimited payroll. I believe Darvish was a rental though so I doubt they bring him back.

no way any NL team has the inside track. the most logical spot would be an AL team where he pitches once every 5 days and DH's in between

This is an exceptional circumstance, not a conventional one. No need for logic, creativity will come into play haha. DH would be great, but NL teams can still let him field on off days. They'll all make it work, you can count on that.
