Yelich traded to the Brewers

Brewers also gave the biggest free agent contract of the offseason.

Wow! At least the Yankees nor the Red sox got em.
That's a pretty price to pay for Yelich though.
Crazy overpay for Cain.

Can’t believe Vladimir Guerrero will be wearing an Angels cap in Cooperstown. Come on man.
I agree he should go in as a Expo. With players changing teams more often they should be able to go in with many caps and not be forced to pick one.

If he comes during the Exhibition game again like he did with Pedro Martinez...would he boo? Pedro wore bosox

It's reported the Jays were one of the final teams in on Yelich, but sounds like they had to include Vlad Guerrero Jr, who they didn't want to part with.

Grichuk and Diaz were very cheap pick-up and have a chance to be everyday players. I think that's what Atkins is banking on

I would have given up Vlad Jr. Prospect does not equal success in the MLB.

Yelich is a proven star, plays OF, bats left, has power, some speed.

If the Jays sign Donaldson long-term, what does that mean for Vlad?

Agreed just talking about everywhere else. Teams are getting smarter not to sign crazy 10 Year Contracts...hopefully no strike is coming

If Jays sign Donaldson to long term contract, which I doubt, Vlad can plan outfield or first base.

How will this affect Osuna's season?
Would he be more motivated this season?

What i don't understand is why the Jays took a chance on getting Osuna and Stroman upset. The money that they both asked for isn't very far apart from what the Jays offered. Osuna was only $600,000 apart and Stroman is only $400,000 apart. Personally i would just pay them what they wanted especially since we want both of them to stay here for years to come.

Does it not go both ways though? Osuna made $500k last year and now he'll make $5 million...if I was Osuna, I wouldnt care about the $600k.

I see your point but $600,000 is a lot of money to give up. I`m sure his agent found a comparable before Osuna asked for the $5.9.

Does that necessarily mean the Jays offered $5.3M? Or could they have offered less than the figure decided by arbitration?
