Mark your calendars now. This event at Nathan Phillips Square is one of the best festivals of the year. Looks like they've got some good bands this year, too.

Glittering Lights, Live Music, Skating & Winter Fireworks
November 24, 2018 This holiday tradition features the first illumination of Toronto’s Official Christmas Tree, spectacular fireworks, a skating party, and performances by some of Canada’s top musical talent.

Event Schedule
6 pm – Skating party with DJ Sean Sax and fire and light performances by Illuminair, sponsored by Tim Hortons | Hip-hop veteran Sean Sax has been involved in Toronto’s Black music scene for over 25 years and has spun alongside some of today’s most respected deejays.
6:50 pm – Supercharged soul from Tanika Charles | Polaris Music Prize and 2017 Juno R&B/Soul Recording of the Year-nominee, Tanika Charles is a staple in the Canadian soul scene. She is a commanding performer and band leader presenting a selection of songs from her debut full-length album, Soul Run.
7:30 pm – First lighting of Toronto’s Official Christmas Tree, powered by Official Lights Sponsor, Toronto Hydro.
7:40 pm – Red-hot swing and seasonal songs by Tami Neilson | Canadian-born, New Zealand-based country and soul singer/songwriter, Tami Neilson is known for her powerhouse vocals and soulful voice straight from the golden age of country and rockabilly music.
8:25 pm – Breathtaking circus entertainment using fire and light by Illuminair | Toronto’s most acclaimed, internationally travelled, bespoke circus company.
8:35 pm – Fireworks display.
8:40 pm – Concert by Kobo Town, sponsored by Great Gulf | Founded and fronted by émigré Trinidadian songwriter Drew Gonsalves, the 2018 Juno Award World Music Album of the Year-winner Kobo Town presents their distinct calypso-inspired sound mixed with dancehall reggae and trombone-heavy brass.
9:40 pm – Skating party with DJ Dre Ngozi accompanied by Illuminair, sponsored by Tim Hortons. | Spinning everything from classic hip-hop and R&B to island sounds and Afrobeats, Dre Ngozi’s work is fueled by a mash-up of sounds, a true reflection of her nomadic spirit.
